The Hudson Players Club is celebrating spring by raising the curtain tomorrow night, April 7, on a rousing comedy centered around golf, marriage and deception.
Whose Wives Are They Anyway?, running at the Hudson Village Theatre from April 7-16, is the story of two men who go away for a golf weekend to celebrate a work promotions that includes forging relations with a new boss.
At the same time the men’s wives take off for a weekend of shopping in New York City.
Everyone is happy with the arrangement.
Until the men check in to the golf resort and meet up with their new boss who makes it clear she will not tolerate employees taking weekends away from their spouses.
Whose Wives Are They Anyway? director Don Anderson said the farcical show that includes plenty of physical comedy illustrates what happens when things go from bad to worse very quickly.
For Anderson, now is the time to get out of the house.
“As the snow melts and the sun comes out, people are ready for some fun, light entertainment and this show certainly delivers,” he noted.
Anderson said he chose the play from several other contenders because it made him laugh out loud while reading it.
“And I was alone… I’m a tough sell so if it did that for me, I know people will love it.”
