An annual walk that unites Vaudreuil-Soulanges residents from all age and income brackets is asking participants to lace up and hit the road to benefit a palliative care home that’s open to all. The fifth annual Bourassa Boyer Walk for the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence Foundation will get underway on May 1 at Maison Valois Park in Vaudreuil-Dorion. Organizers say the fifth anniversary will include family celebrations, games, food, and more. More than 70 teams have registered to participate on the VSPCRF website thus far, including many MRC Vaudreuil-Soulanges towns, businesses and groups walking in memory of loved ones who have spent their final days at the home. Teams, which are encouraged to raise a minimum $1,000 per group, will help the Hudson home raise the $1.4 million it needs every year to continue offering free palliative care services. Last year more than 1,500 people raised $160,000. The May 1 non-competitive walk along Vaudreuil-Dorion waterfront land will include a 3, 5 or 7 km courses. To register go to www.mspvs.org, or call 450 202-2202, ext. 126.
