60s logo-4-1The Hudson Village Theatre will kick off its summer season next week when it opens the 60’s Spotlight Show, running from May 25 – June 5. The show just wrapped a successful run in Cambridge, On. Show producer Jim Eagle said those who saw it called the experience a “blast from the past that took them back to their childhood.” The nostalgia based musical review will feature 34 songs performed over a two hour time period. There will be a short intermission. According to Eagle, their seven performers are looking forward to bringing the production to Hudson. Called “a feast for the ears,” the 60’s Spotlight Show will feature many of the powerful, nostalgic hits from bands such as The Who, The Beatles, Diana Ross, The Dave Clarke Five, The Monkees, The Rolling Stones, Santana, and more. HVT Artistic Director Matthew Tiffin said the theatre is giving people what they’ve been asking for. “Audiences have been telling me they want more music in our seasons… If you’ve never been to Hudson Village Theatre, the 60’s Spotlight Show is a perfect introduction,” he added. Canadian music veteran Cheryl Lescom, who Long John Baldry once said “has one of the best and biggest voices in Canada,” will front the show. Other featured musicians include: Peter de Sousa, Tim Louis, Adam Bowman, David Rodenberg, Matt Segriff, and Brandon Sanders. For tickets, showtimes or more, call the HVT box office at 450-458-5361 or go to www.villagetheatre.ca/events.
