Three John Abbott College students are part of a four-man team of runners that are jogging more than 900 km from Montreal to Washington D.C. in the U.S. to raise funds for the Terry Fox Foundation and cancer research. The White House Runners, who departed from Montreal on Canada Day, include Abbott students Akshay Grover, twin brothers Mathieu and Marc-André Blouin, and Aidan Yardley-Jones, a student at Dawson College. The four met while on their West Island high school cross country running team. The four athletes, who hope to raise more than $40,000 for the Terry Fox Canada Foundation, have raised close to $4,500 to date. To donate to the team go to: https://secure.terryfox.ca/registrant/TeamFundraisingPage.aspx?teamID=669641#&panel1-1, or follow The WhiteHouse Runners Facebook page.
