StoryFest poets presenting

The Greenwood Centre for Living History’s StoryFest will continue when poets Don McKay and Taqralik Partridge present at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 6, at the Hudson Village Theatre, 28 Wharf Rd. McKay has authored 28 books including, “Vis a Vis – Field Notes on Poetry and Wilderness”, which was nominated for a Governor General’s Award. He won the 2007 Griffin Poetry Prize for “Strike/Slip”. The Newfoundland resident was made a member of the Order of Canada in 2008. Meanwhile, Partridge, a spoken word poet and Inuit throat singer who lives in northern Quebec, won the 2010 Quebec Short Story Competition. She has performed with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and been featured as an emerging artist by CBC television. Her work centers on Inuit experiences and relationships with the land.
