They won’t look like Charlie Brown Christmas trees, but the kids selling them are just as nice as the fictional Peanuts character. Hudson Cavagnal Scouts are hosting an annual Christmas tree fundraiser this week and organizers say there is still time to order a fresh, lush tree. Going high tech this year, the local troops are giving people the option of placing orders online and having them delivered for a $5 fee. The group is offering 6-8-foot trees for $40, or 8-10-foot trees for $50. Mike Block, a Saint Lazare resident and Scout leader, said those who want to pick their items up can do so on Dec. 3, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., at the corner of Harwood Blvd. and Montée St. Charles, in St. Lazare. Funds raised will be used to buy equipment for the units, or to fund Scout camps, community and outdoor activities, as well as to help cover costs for scouts who could otherwise not afford to join. The Hudson Cavagnal Scout groups include the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers. Orders can be placed with local scout leaders, or through the group’s website: www.CAVAGNALSCOUTS.CA.
